Neuroscience of perception and action; Visual illusions and
motor behavior; Statistics and research methodology.

I studied Psychology and Physics at
the
University of
Konstanz and at the
University
of California, San Diego. Diplom in Psychology (1995) at
the
University of
Konstanz. After my Diplom I first moved to
the
University
of Freiburg and then to
the
Max-Planck-Institute
for Biological Cybernetics in Tübingen. Dissertation
(2000) at
the
University
of Bochum and at
the
Max-Planck-Institute
for Biological Cybernetics in Tübingen. From 2002
until 2010 I was at
the
University of
Giessen in the department
for
General and
Experimental Psychology, where I finished my Habilitation
(2005). In April 2010 I was appointed professor for General
Psychology at
the
University of
Hamburg. In Feb 2016 I started as professor for
Experimental Cognitive Science at the University of Tübingen.
